This new opus by a choreographer of inexhaustible inspiration is orchestrated from a soundtrack whose raw material is the breath of 12 dancers. An ode to life.
Marie Chouinard has never ceased to be attuned to the vital impulse of the body in a protean body of work, a vast field of research encompassing dance, poetry, drawing, photography, film, installation and new technologies in a single creative impulse. More than 30 years after Les trous du ciel, her first group work and an essential milestone in a formidable odyssey, Chouinard returns to a choreographic exploration whose premises are breath and voice. Starting with micro-movements, an impulse that shakes lungs and bones, the delirious mechanics of being “of the living” are set in motion: the awakening of emotions... Precise as a clock, a community moves forward and collides in a loop with the origins of madness and wisdom. The blocks of reality crumble, a new, disordered order emerges, revealing the friendly, luminous connections within care. Dazzling.
