Failing… what a pain! It's so hard to admit that things aren't going as planned. It's better to be "the one who wins." You have to be on top of everything. When you're a parent, you have to be a top parent. When you're a child, you have to be a top child. Yet, nothing ever goes as planned. Every day we stumble a little, we mess up, and we fail. But we move forward, even if everything is "crooked." And deep down, aren't the consequences of our failures what build us?
For their third joint creation, La Parenthèse - Christophe Garcia and Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke delve into this mountain of small and big things that, despite ourselves - parents and children alike - we miss. Born out of a series of explorations with groups of children in France and Quebec, Va falloir toujours toujours brings the children's perspective to the flaws, the hollows and the courageous collapses of those around them. In continuity with Le problème avec le rose (The Problem With Pink, over 300 performances worldwide), this show deploys humor and depth in a single gesture. The form, energy and tone are often raw and absurd, sometimes violent and chaotic, sometimes funny and offbeat.
