La Parenthèse
Christophe Garcia founded La Parenthèse in 2000 with a team of performers and creators from different backgrounds. Christophe's collaborations are based on a long-term artistic perspective. This permanence enables the company to flourish both humanly and artistically, and to be identified far beyond the production and distribution of its shows. La Parenthèse has built up an extensive repertoire of creations, widely performed in France and abroad. It also transmits several pieces from its repertoire to other international companies and leading dance schools. In addition to its creative work, the team is also involved in numerous projects to promote dance (training young dancers, festival projects, programming advice, helping dancers make the transition to professional life, etc.). The company is also renowned for its successful international collaborations, notably in Europe and North America. In 2025, the company will celebrate its 25th anniversary. Looking to the future, La Parenthèse - Christophe Garcia recently unveiled the astonishing NIEBO HOTEL and Les Nuits d'été.

Christophe Garcia
Trained as a dancer and initiated into theater and music, Christophe Garcia quickly steered his work towards choreography. He joined the École Rudra Béjart before becoming a member of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne in 1998. Subsequently, he worked as a performer with several artistic personalities such as Robert Wilson, Robert Lepage, and the Cas Public company. Driven by his desire to create his own work, Christophe founded his own company, La Parenthèse, in 2000. Winner of several international choreography awards, he is regularly invited to create for international companies and major musical institutions (Béjart Ballet, Scapino Ballet, Ballet d’Europe, national operas and orchestras, etc.). Since 2016, Christophe has been associated with the Pôle National Supérieur de Danse de Cannes-Mougins. Christophe Garcia's writing is precise, embodied, and multifaceted. He questions his writing by engaging in dialogue with other artistic disciplines and creators. Playful and amused, Christophe also enjoys surprising his audiences with his performances. He constantly redefines the relationship with the audience and offers surprising and immersive forms in unique venues for very diverse audiences. The singularity of his work ultimately manifests in a form of exhilaration, luminosity, and in the discreet poetry that he always hints at, regardless of the subjects and forms he takes on.
