Kira Arts
Led by Aly Keita, Kira Arts is a Montreal-based performing arts creation and production company that creates multidisciplinary works at the intersection of dance, theater, circus, and music. Based on an intercultural and inclusive approach, it values artistic freedom and dialogue between diverse practices, cultures, and sensibilities.
The word Kira , which means "path" in Soussou (the language of Guinea), symbolizes the meeting and collective journey of artists from diverse backgrounds, with particular attention to the African diaspora and Afro-descendant artists. Through creations such as Djata: Conversations du Manden, Altération and Nimba, the company explores resilience, human connections and the relationship between culture and nature. By weaving an artistic community open to the world, Kira Arts brings poetic and universal imaginations to local and international stages.

Aly Keita
Aly Keita, originally from Guinea, is a multidisciplinary performing artist based in Montreal. He studied circus arts, dance, and music at the Keita Fodeba Acrobatic Art Center in Conakry. In 2016, he arrived in Canada as part of a cultural exchange between Inuit and Guinean acrobats, which led to the production of the documentary Circus Without Borders. Since then, he has collaborated with various organizations, including Productions Kalabanté, Cirque Eloize, Cavalia, Zab Maboungou/Compagnie Danse Nyata Nyata, MAPP_Montréal, Jobel Art for Earth, Audrey Gaussiran, RD Créations, and more. He also participated in Afro Canada, a four-part documentary on 400 years of Afro-descendant history, broadcast by Radio-Canada. Since 2020, he has been creating and presenting his own work, Djata: Conversations du Manden, in Canada and the United States. In 2023, he will premiere his new work, Altération, supported by the CALQ and the CAC. Aly Keita has extensive experience in teaching and cultural mediation with both young audiences and adults. Since 2022, he has been an artist-mediator at Place des Arts and also collaborates with the Verdun Circus School. Interacting with audiences of all ages is a source of artistic and human enrichment for him.
