Nimba
Kira Arts
Bringing myth to meet athletics, Nimba combines dance, circus, music, Quebec and Guinea to invoke a resilience founded on vital movement.

A land of inspiration and living heritage, Guinea is the birthplace of two powerful symbols: the Nimba (N'Dimba) mask, a maternal figure of the Baga, embodying fertility, abundance, and protection, and Mount Nimba, a natural site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique biodiversity, both precious and threatened. From this encounter between myth and mountain is born Nimba , a movement of resilience where culture and nature entwine in the same vital breath.
On stage, eight highly talented dancers and circus artists compete in energy, athleticism, and sensitivity to immerse the audience in a vibrant universe of humanity. Dance becomes breath, circus gesture, music memory. Between rural and urban, tradition and contemporaneity, Nimba brings together the rhythms of the world and the impulses of the soul, in a poetic celebration of life in transformation.
Kira Arts, a Montreal company directed by Aly Keita, has created a multidisciplinary work at the crossroads of cultures. Driven by an intercultural and inclusive approach, Nimba showcases the diversity of voices and imaginations in a powerful and captivating way. The work invites the audience on a sensory and spiritual journey, a call to the roots and a cry toward the future.
