Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke
Le Petit Théâtre's mission is to develop the practice and attendance of theater for young audiences by placing words and dramaturgy at the center of each of its research projects, and by giving multidisciplinary teams the creative conditions to experiment with a dialogue between musical, visual and physical languages. A theater that creates and presents works that allow a great freedom of reading, that leave room for interpretation to the sensibility and intelligence of each young spectator, and that trusts their capacity to explore new forms. A theater of hybrid forms that decompartmentalizes practices, always on the lookout for new ways to tell stories, to explode the narrative, to challenge its audience by playing with the codes of representation, inviting them to plunge into universes where they must invest their imaginations. A theater committed to showcasing the talent of local artists, while creating new collaborations with foreign companies, thus multiplying opportunities for exchange between creators from other horizons and artistic disciplines. Since its founding in 1973, Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke has created over 90 shows, in French and English, presented in Quebec, Canada, the United States, France, Belgium, Scotland, Switzerland and South America.

Erika Tremblay-Roy
Trained at the École de théâtre du Cégep de St-Hyacinthe, Érika Tremblay-Roy works as an author and director, with a particular interest in theater for young audiences. Her plays include Tante T and Autopsie d'une napkin, for which she won the 2012 Prix Louise-LaHaye from the Fondation du Centre des auteurs dramatiques. With her play Petite vérité inventée, created by Théâtre Bouches Décousues in 2013, she was a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Awards, presented by the Canada Council for the Arts. For Lettre pour Éléna, co-produced by Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke and the French dance company La Parenthèse, she was awarded the 2016 Prix LOJIQ : Francophonie and the CALQ : œuvre de l'année en Estrie. For her play Le problème avec le rose, a second co-production by Le Petit Théâtre and La Parenthèse, she was again a finalist in 2019 for the Prix du CALQ : œuvre de l'année en Estrie, and in 2020 won for a second time the Prix Louise-LaHaye, which rewards the best text for young audiences brought to the stage during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
